If you have this error it means that:

• the bastion is unreachable

the root cause can be:

• the bastion took a lot of time to respond (> 5mn)
• the bastion is down

Troubleshooting hints

• check if the bastion of the specific zone is up and running by trying to ssh through the target
• check the grafana of the infra zone select Blackbox-exporter-> cloud-caascad -> target
  • If value have increased in DNS Lookup, itt means it's a DNS problem.
  • If value have increased in Probe Duration, it means it's a Probe problem.
  • Then try to answer next questions :
  • Is this a global linear increase over time. If the answer is yes, since when ?
  • Is it a spontaneous and fixed increase ?
  • By answering these questions, possible hints to explore for the root causes may be an overall increase traffic usage or a network problem
